You're right, cigar smoking is best left to the great outdoors or a ventilated room. Case in point: The parties I've been to have been in slowly vented rooms or (my favorite) the infallible screen-surrounded porch/den on a summer's evening. The effects of the fine cigar are usually pleasant aromas, not to be confused with the cheap, nappy store-bought kind. Also, the smoker's motivation should be taste, then the aroma- although I've had ones I burn like incense for their rich dutch chocolate smell, one that I personally have a strong favoring for.
